Live in London The top live music venue in London?
Cafe Oto
A small but sweet venue that is passionate about new music. A little bit like an arts centre with a good crowd of people. Great for acoustic nights.
Bush Hall
A vintage venue that has seen the likes of Lily Allen to Gary Moore. This place feels a little bit like your local town hall holding a gig but that is part of its charm.
Brixton Academy
A classic music venue in the heart of Brixton. We couldn't do a Live Music venue guide without popping this gem in it. Great sound quality and seating as well as standing space, a winner all around.
Proud Galleries
This Camden venue is classed as an art gallery but actually it holds some brilliant club nights and live music events. Local and international bands play in the old stables with some great acoustics.
Cargo
Just off Curtain Road, this trendy venue has seen many stars walk its stage. Great for a night out as well as live music, we recommend any gig here.
Clockwork
Another great little venue that has a lot of local bands playing. There is a large upstairs bar area and downstairs a nice dance area in front of the stage.
Notting Hill Arts Club
'A pioneering music and arts venue' is how they describe themselves. A great atmosphere and fantastic live music is what we say. There is a huge variety of music that goes on there, something for all musical tastes.
Shunt
Hidden in the arches of London Bridge Underground station, this live venue is a secret that we want to share with the world. Live music mostly and nice friendly staff.
The Forum
Another London institute that is famed for its live music. It's a big venue that calls to the masses and it loved by many, including us.
KOKO
The Teenie-boppers heaven that is KOKO has many music lovers torn. Its uber cool reputation has worn off slightly over the years but as a music venue it is top trumps.
229
This place is huge and if it's not pack out the music can rattle around a bit. It's easy to get to and reasonably priced. Not one for our favourites but a good place anyway.
The Metro Club
A dark and intimate gig venue with sticky floors and a crowed bar. The stage is make-shift so you do feel up close and personal to the music which is one of the highlights of this venue.
The Amersham Arms
This pub is New Cross is more than meets the eye. It's a cracking live music venue as well as an excellent pub.
The Luminaire
It's hard to find a small independent music venue like this. We love the variety that's on the stage and the fact that tickets generally don't cost the world.
Roundhouse
Another Camden venue with a difference. This place is large and attracts big acts. You can't miss this place from the high street; it's the big round building!

BM Soho
A selection drum and bass, electro, underground, tech house music. This is a well respected music shop in London with experienced staff and a good atmosphere. Loads of you think this is the best place to go in London to get music.
Rough Trade East
There is one of these record shops in Covent garden but this one, near brick lane is so much bigger and better. It has an extensive collection of records with a tea shop and mini stage for in store appearances. In general a great improvement on it's sibling store.
Sister Ray
Rare and collectible records can be expensive but here at Sister Ray you can fill the holes in your shelves for a very reasonable price. We like it for its huge collection of both old and new artists and the friendly and helpful staff. Thank you Sister ray.
Flashback
Essex Road in Islington has a few independent record shop on it but this one seems to be your favorite. A large selection of Vinyl gems that can keep even the fussiest of collectors happy. Definitely worth a look.
