Make mine a cosmopolitan
In honour of the new Sex And The City film weve shashayed and sipped our way round London and to bring you the top places across the capital to get a cosmopolitan with the girls.
5th View at Waterstone’s, Piccadilly
At the top of this branch of bookshops is a bar with an amazing view of London. This place would be a perfect stop for writer Carrie to spend time between assignments and shopping. Try a Pomegranate Cosmo for a summer twist.
Oscar at The Charlotte Street Hotel, Fitzrovia
Charlotte would definitely approve of this plush hotel bar in Fitzrovia. If you want to blow the budget with a cocktail and then Champagne, Oscar is the place for you. Always buzzing and with big windows and a terrace at the front, get there early to avoid the crowds on a Thursday or Friday.
Sosho, Hoxton
This award-winning bar is a first class place to sip your cosmo. During the week you get a mix of city workers (the Mirandas amongst you) and hip and stylish locals (the Samanthas). Spread over two floors with booths, alcoves and the Sosho Lounge, come for the drinks as well as the music with clubnights running Wednesday to Sunday.
Bar Red, Soho
A good quality cosmo can be found here, served by friendly staff. Bar Red is cosy in winter and relaxed in summer. Grab an outdoor table if you can in the courtyard.
Stay at home and make your own?
If you can't make it to one of these fabulous bars, then why not make a cosmo at home with our classic recipe:
Ingredients
- 1.5 shots of vodka
- 0.75 shots of Triple Sec
- 2.5 shots of cranberry juice
- 1 teaspoon of caster sugar
- 0.5 shot of fresh lime
Add all ingredients to a cocktail shaker. Shake and strain into a chilled martini glass. Garnish with a strip of orange zest.
