The Secret Life of Bees

Set in South Carolina during the Civil Rights era, the home of intelligent and independent honey-making Boatwright sisters is thrown into upheaval with the arrival of fourteen year old Lily and her caretaker Rosaleen.

The good bits:  The story is beautiful, and very moving with brilliant performances from the little leading lady Dakota Fanning and Queen Latifah. Take your tissues, it's a bit of a tear jerker.
The bad bits:  The film is a bit slow at times and rather girly, so lads you may want to stay at home.
