NME Awards
Oasis lead the way in this year's NME Award nominations. The band is up for seven gongs including Best Album and Best Live Band. But there's a twist in the tail because they're also up for Worst Band.
Elton John
Sir Elton John has stunned Argentine dignitaries by snubbing their president after she kept him waiting. According to reports the veteran singer hit the roof when President Christina Kirchner pushed back their private meeting for five hours. Apparently Elton decided to leave for Chile instead of waiting around.
Dr Who
Martin Clunes was apparently all set to become the next Doctor Who but pulled out at the last minute in a row over cash.
According to reports the Men Behaving Badly star had signed on for the Christmas special and TV bosses had earmarked him for the main roll this year. But the deal collapsed after terms could not be agreed.
Jonathan Ross
Jonathan Ross' latest radio scandal has sparked just one hundred and thirty complaints according to the BBC. The presenter sparked a new row when he suggested his Radio 2 co-presenter should sleep with his elderly Spanish neighbour. But fans will be relieved to hear there were so few complaints compared to his Andrew Sachs media storm that further action is unlikely.
